Finally, the Oscars! Definitely one of the best days of the year for fashion. From Angelina Jolie's constantly-jutting leg to Emma Stone's red statement dress, the red carpet was full of fashion home-runs, and at the very least, interesting fashion choices.
Angelina Jolie looked fantastic in her Atelier Versace black gown. But more noted than the gown is her leg, which seemed to be poking out all night, ranging from looking sexy to...a little goofy. Hence, the "Angelina Jolie" leg meme that hit the Internet this morning. But a stunning dress nonetheless.
JLo certainly knows what works for her! Metallics and up-dos really seem to be her thing, and she certainly knows how to work it. Also, can we discuss the fact that she doesn't seem to age?
Viola Davis looked like an elegant mermaid in this green Vera Wang number. And the short red hair seems to suit her as well, not to mention go well with the dress. Ever since she's been on the red carpet, she's been knocking them out of the park in the fashion department.
Octavia Spencer- total A+. This white, jeweled Tadashi Shoji gown is perfectly gathered at the waist, and creates an extremely slimming silhouette. Graceful, sexy and sparkling--what else could we ask for?
Penelope Cruz went for a 1950's feel with this Georgio Armani number. Quite different for her, but the understated blue works fabulously with her complexion, and the entire ensemble was a definite win!
Now this is just stunning. Jessica Chastain blew us away with this strapless black and gold gown from Alexander McQueen, not to mention her $2 million worth of jewelry. She was a nominee for Best Supporting Actress, but there was nothing secondary about this outfit.
